SUMMER PROGRAMS
Children of all ages will enjoy 2-3 books and a craft activity centered on a theme. This summer we will be reading about bugs. For all ages!
Every Tuesday, we'll watch another great classic Disney animated cartoon. Movies will be shown on a large screen. Food is welcome during the movies. Children under the age of six (6) years must be accompanied by an adult. For all ages!
Bring a sack lunch to the library and eat while listening to the book Peter and the Starcatchers. (Each week will start with a recap of what has happened before.) Please bring your own food and drinks. For 5 years and older! ReadMOre is a program sponsored by the Missouri Humanities Council where Missourians are asked to all read the same book. The 2008 selection is the Peter and the Starcatchers trilogy by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson.
Join us for an afternoon of FUN & GAMES at the library! Play one of the games provided or bring your favorite game to share with others. Games provided include Monopoly, Checkers, Connect Four, Life, Cootie, Scrabble, and many, many more. Food is welcome during the Game Days. For all ages!
Children will be able to make a variety of bug crafts! Different crafts will be made during each session. For ages 5-14 years! Sign-up required! (Please sign-up for only two Creepy Crawly Craft sessions.)
Bring your fastest racing worm to compete in the 3rd Annual Worm Races at the Arnold Branch. For all ages!
Wear your pajamas for this special evening story time about bugs! For all ages! Sign-up is required!
Enjoy dinner while watching a great family film! In June, we will be watching the movie A Bug's Life. The movie will be shown on a large screen. Please bring your own dinner or other refreshments. For all ages!
Listen to the popular
books by Doreen Cronin (Diary of a Bug, Diary of a Worm, and
Diary of a Spider) before making a bug journal to take home.
For ages 5-10 years!
A local teen Girl Scout troop will present several bug folktales through storytelling. For all ages! Sign-up requested!
Make a cool, crazy bug from the art supplies provided! Children may leave their bugs on display in the library if they like. For ages 3-12 years! Sign-up required! (Please sign-up for only one Create a Bug session.)
Celebrate the Fourth of July during this informational craft program. We'll learn the history and meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance before making a couple of patriotic crafts. For ages 3-12 years! Sign-up required!
Join us for a Winnie the Pooh story, movie, craft, and game. For ages 3-12 years! Sign-up required! (Please sign-up for only one Winnie the Pooh session.)
*** A Summer Reading Rewards Program *** The Magic Storyteller - Chris McBrien - will present a magic show with his friend Gracie the Ladybug. At least one summer reading program log MUST be turned in to attend this program. For all ages! Sign-up required and space is limited!

version of The Ant Bully is better - the book or the movie. We'll be
