Each summer, the Jefferson County Library sponsors a summer reading program

The Catch the Reading Bug summer reading program is for ages 0-11
years. Children received a prize and drawing chance for every five
(5) hours read during the program. Both time spent reading and time
spent listening to another read counted for the program. This year,
more than 1300 children read over 18, 500 hours during the summer reading
program.
The Metamorphosis summer reading program is for teens, ages 12-20
years. Teens received a prize and drawing chance for every five
(5) hours read during the program. This year, 165 teens read 4650
hours during the summer reading program.
Check back in the spring for information about the 2009 summer reading
programs for children and teens.
