Network of Care is a highly interactive, single information place where consumers, community-based organizations and municipal government workers all can go to easily access a wide variety of important information. The resources in this "virtual community" include a fast, comprehensive Service Directory; links to pertinent Web sites from across the nation; a comprehensive, easy-to-use Library; a political advocacy tool; community message boards; and many others.

The Graphic Artists Guild offers twelve symbols that are free to use to promote and publicize accessibility of places, programs and other activities for people with various disabilities.

DisabilityInfo.gov www.disabilityinfo.gov
A comprehensive online resource specifically designed to provide people with disabilities with the information they need to know quickly. This site provides access to disability-related information and programs available across the government on numerous subjects, including civil rights, education, employment, housing, health, income support, technology, transportation, and community life.

DisabilityResources.org - The Disability Resources Monthly Guide to Disability Resources on the Internet www.disabilityresources.org
Provides information about books, pamphlets, magazines, newsletters, videos, databases, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, telephone hotlines and on-line services that provide free, inexpensive or hard-to-find information to help people with disabilities live independently.

Division of Special Education - Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

Administers state and federal funds to support services for students and adults with disabilities. Staff members work with other state and local agencies to coordinate the First Steps program, which provides early intervention services for infants and toddlers with disabilities. The division works with local school districts to improve services for students (ages 3-21) with disabilities.

Great Plains ADA and Information Technology Center www.adaproject.org
Serves as a "one-stop" comprehensive resource on ADA issues and accessible information technology. The Center is one of ten regional Disability and Business Technical Assistance Centers established by the National Institute on Disability Research and Rehabilitation. The Great Plains ADA/IT Center serves Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.

Missouri Association on Higher Education and Disability http://www.stlcc.edu/access/
Contains full text of the Missouri AHEAD Guidebook, which has been written to help students with disabilities achieve access into postsecondary education institutions and find success once they are enrolled. The guide should also be useful to secondary special education teachers and parents of students with disabilities.

Missouri Parents ACT (MPACT) www.ptimpact.com
A statewide parent training and information center serving all disabilities, assisting parents to effectively advocate for their children's educational rights and services. Their mission is to ensure that all children with special needs receive an education that allows them to achieve their personal goals.

Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis stlouis.missouri.org/501c/reccouncil/
This not-for-profit organization serves as a "clearinghouse" for information on leisure, recreation and socialization opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in the Greater St. Louis (MO) Area.
