The business collection contains resources that aid individuals in starting a business, maintaining an existing business, and expanding the opportunities available to their business. The reference collection contains resources for both the individual entrepreneur and established large commercial businesses.

The Northwest Branch specializes in genealogy and local history, with emphasis on Missouri, Jefferson County, and other local municipalities.
Genealogy research can be conducted by examining records such as census, marriage, birth and death records. Other sources available include family histories, pension records, cemetery records, city directories and community histories.

The government collection contains a core foundation of resources covering the functions and responsibilities of government entities at the local, state and federal level. These resources include, but are not limited to, local, federal and state laws and regulations. The collection also includes materials on legal issues and concerns such as wills, divorce or child custody. These materials may include legal forms that are specific to Missouri or nationally accepted as legal word for word.
